Chimera goes for the 8-Ball
Posted: 16/07/08

Chimera Synthesis, who had a bumpy start with their entry into the handheld synth market with the BC16, have announced a smaller and less complicated synth in the BC8.
BC8 has some basic synthesis parameters that are fixed in routing, unlike the BC16 which is patchable using little cords. Also it features a one-note memory pattern sequencer. Not really sure what that’s about so i’ll look forward to any sound clips or videos.
Thanks Music Thing for the info.
Thingamakit for me please

As a huge fan of the Thingamagoop, I’m happy to see the Thingamakit is released.
I will probably order one with the case, but I can’t help to aspire to the greatness that Dr. Bleep has acheived in this flickr photo.
Add Midi support to your Game Boy

Rekkerd’s quick links this weeks pointed me over to a cool little product called Midify. At $35 i’d be very curious to see how it works with something like Nanoloop on my Old Grey. But could also be very useful for the plethora of applications being made for the Nintendo DS
Korg launches Kaossilator Mini-Site

I haven’t been speaking enough about the Kaossilator on this blog, but I guess a good way of kicking off the Kaossilator content is to link over to Korg’s new mini-site dedicated to the monster handheld synthesizer.
The site features some general information about the product, as well as featured videos and inside information to feed your appetite for the little yellow box that’s been taking the world by storm this year.
Every time I use it, I wish I had my camera rolling so I could upload it to Youtube and show off what I do with the synth. Recording video is also a good way of documenting what you do for future use, since the unit doesn’t save anything.
Well check the page out and we’ll meet again about this.
Korg unveils an MS-10 emulation for the Nintendo DS

Music Thing made a post today about Korg’s new DS-10 Synthesizer, being shown off at Musikmesse this week.
If they didn’t do enough with the Kaossilator already, they are just about to raise the bar once more in portable music.
It’s currently only available in Japan, but all I can say is, “Wow”.
You’ll be sure to hear more about this in the future from me.
